Obscene Language is not permitted on college property.
Sexual harassment of fellow learners, lecturing staff or any other staff member or members of the public will not be tolerated.
”Sexual harassment is defined as an unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature that” :
• ls repeated despite being declined;
• Is personally offensive;
• Fails to respect the rights of others;
• Interferes with work effectiveness;
• Creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive environment.
Learners may not have offensive published material in their possession on College premises. Such material will be destroyed, if found.
Gambling is not permitted on College premises.
There must be no smoking on College property.
The playing of physical games or horseplay inside the College or in close proximity of the College buildings is not permitted.
Cell phones must be switched off during lectures.
Fire fighting equipment must not be tampered with. It is to be used exclusively for the purpose for which is intended. Any learner found guilty of tampering with this equipment is liable to be prosecuted under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act 85 of 1993).
Damaging of College property is a serious offence. Learners may be charged by the court of law with malicious damage to property and will be held responsible to pay for any damage to equipment or fixed assets. Such damage must be repaired to the satisfaction of the Campus Manager/ Chief Executive Officer.
Learners are noț permitted to enter the staff room. The admin room and management office may be vișited only on official business.
Learners are not permitted to display any printed or handwritten matter on notice boards or any College property unless it bears the signature of the Campus Manager/ Chief Executive Officer.
Learnerș are prohibited from eating or drinking in lecture rooms, except during inclement weather.
Learners are required to discard papers, bottles, containers, etc. In the bins provided and not on floors, window ledges, fire escapes or any other basins or drains.
Learners are to refrain from discharging any items that can cause plumbing problems or inconvenience to cleaning staff in toilet bowls, hand basins or drains.
Only under exceptional circumstances will learners be permitted to receive visitors during College hours
The use of cellular phones or other communication devices for receiving or making calls is prohibited in lecture and examination rooms. Only part-time learners are permitted to leave their cellular phones on during lectures, due to work obligations.
No suitcases, satchels, parcels or other items are to be left unattended to on College premises.
Learners are responsible for the care of their own books and stationery. The College does not accept responsibility for the loss or damage to learners’ personal property while on College premises.
In the interest of security, learner’s possessions may be searched.
The College will not take responsibility for daily transport problems that may occur.
The possession and / or sale of use of alcoholic drinks or any illegal substances on the College premises will lead to expulsion.
Firearms and / or dangerous weapons are not allowed to be carried on the premises.
No learner is to leave the college premises without leave being granted by the Campus Manager or the Chief Executive Officer.
