rules for full - time students

  1. All students have to complete 2 assessments for each examination entry.
    • The assessments accounts for 40% of the final mark.
    • In order to qualify for admission to the final examination a minimum of 40% must be obtained for assessment and a minimum of 80% class attendance.
  2. Your term mark is valid for 3 consecutive trimesters. If you are re-writing a subject and your term mark is still valid, you do not have to submit an assessment. However, proof of the term mark must be supplied for reduced fee.
  3. If no assessments are handed in, you will not be allowed to write the final examination and your fees will be forfeited.
  4. The details of the assessment tasks are as follows :

  5. Derivation of Term Mark
    • Formula : Term Mark = ( Task 1 percentage x 0,3) + ( Task 2 percentage x 0,7)
    • The Term Mark is not necessarily the average of the 2 percentages.
  6. Due dates for the assessments are as follows :

  7. Assessments submitted after the due will not be marked and you will be awarded “Zero” for your term mark and you will not be allowed to write the final examination.
  8. The assessment remains the property of the college.
  9. All ICASS tasks must be completed in your own handwriting in black ink.
  10. WARNING : The ICASS mark given to you may be adjusted during the standardisation process by the Quality Assuror. Therefore, you are advised to prepare thoroughly for the external examination which is also subject to standardisation.

  • All the rules except for 6 will apply
  • The due dates for assessments 1 and 2 are the last Saturdays of weeks 4 and 8 respectively.
